I don't consider myself a religious person, really, but I have to say this post touched me. Mostly because, you're an amazing soul and a great friend who I love to see happy - but also because I really like the idea of adding something positive where you take something away. Shows that you truly know the meaning and purpose of sacrifice. Keep on keepin' on lady! xo

Hello, I was thinking the same exact thing. You can hear the Father's still small voice only in silence. Then, in that silence it will come upon you like a raging river.
God bless and have a wonderful Lent,
Ocie Smith @opipe73

I'm a fairly recent Catholic convert, confirmed at Easter Vigil in 2010. This will be the third Lenten season in which I've participated. I've found each year that the sacrifices or additions I have made during this period of reflection have been changes that stuck with me permanently and have a very positive impact on my life.

This year my Lenten "sacrifice" will be to pray the Rosary every day (among a couple other less important things). I understand for many Catholics this may not be a major sacrifice. But as a small business owner, my schedule is often very hectic and as a result, I am more selfish with my down time than I should be. As a result, my prayer life has suffered, particularly over the past 6 months. I am hopeful this will have a lasting positive impact on my life and strengthen my devotion to the Blessed Mother.
