Drink of the Month: St-Germain

So I’ve had a slight obsession with St-Germain Liqueur for almost a year now. This French, elderflower delight never ceases to pleasure my palate with its flowery goodness.

One of the first things I do when I step into a bar when I’m in the mood for a cocktail is scan the bottle selection to see if they have this magical cordial. If so, one must immediately check the menu for any bartender specials containing St-Germain. If so, order it. Don’t hesitate. If not, check the knowledge of the barkeep and ask him to get creative and make you something delightfully refreshing. You won’t regret it.

Review: Spencer Trappist Ale

Spencer Brewery, run by the monks at Saint Joseph’s Abbey, a Trappist monastery, in Spencer, Massachusetts launched in early 2014 producing just 1 beer, Spencer Trappist Ale. Since that time, I’ve been working on ways to get my hands on some of the work of the only official Trappist Brewery outside of Europe since they only distribute in Massachusetts. Thankfully, some kind friends shared their loot with me so that I would be able to write about it for the blog.
